Magic Christmas in Lights at Bellingrath Gardens

IMG_2745If you own a home in Coastal Alabama, there is a truly beautiful place called Bellingrath Gardens that you will want to visit with the family this Christmas. While we recommend all botantical enthusiasts visit this Gulf Coast attraction, this garden is especially beautiful during the holidays!

Bellingrath Gardens is most famous for it’s incredible azalea displays and spring events in conjunction with them, but Christmas is a close second. The annual Christmas event showcased the 65 acre estate during the month of December with over 3 million lights and close to 1,000 lighted displays throughout the grounds.

Each evening enjoy coral performances that are sure to delight as you sip warm cocoa and cider while strolling through the festive scene. The kids can even have their picture taken with Santa while you pick up a few presents at the Gift Shop.

The lights will be on display from November 28 through Chrismas night. Indugle yourself in just the lights or take a grand tour of the homes, as well. Prices start at just $15 for adults and $7 for children. Kids under 4 are free to attend.

Restaurants Open on Gulf Coast for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Will you be spending your Thanksgiving on a Gulf Coast vacation with Pointe South? Or, perhaps you don’t feel up to hosting the family after just moving to the Gulf Coast. Either way, we have some good news.

Because holiday visitors are common on the coast, many local restaurants open their doors and serve traditional Thanksgiving meals. And, usually, all you need to do to attend is make a reservation. How easy is that? And, no cleaning your kitchen afterward!

Restaurants that will be open in the Pensacola and Perdido Key area include The Fish House and Jackson’s Steakhouse. You will find all your traditional favorites and even a few yummy additions on their menus. The Flora-Bama, located on the State line between Perdido Key and Orange Beach, will also be hosting a potluck. Just bring your favorite side item and the meats are provided by them.

In Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, you will find many restaurants open including Fisher’s at Orange Beach Marina and Bahama Bob’s Beachside Cafe. No matter how you are planning to spend your Thanksgiving, we hope you enjoy a wonderful day!

Kenny Chesney Flora-Bama Concert on CMT

Do you remember when Kenny Chesney hosted his only concert of the year right here in Perdido Key? Hopefully you took advantage of living on the Gulf Coast and attended. If you missed it, don’t worry. The special is about to air.

The biggest beach party of the year, consisting of nearly 40,000 attendees, happened at our very own Flora-Bama. This last little road house rests upon the sugar white sand beaches of Florida and Alabama and holds a special place in Kenny’s heart. So much so, he wrote a song about it!

Watch the video here for a little taste of the new album and then tune in Friday, November 14 at 9pm when CMT airs the special for the first time. If you own real estate in Perdido Key or an Orange Beach home, make the short drive over for the viewing party at the Flora-Bama. If you missed the concert, this is a great way to experience the excitement. And, if you were lucky enough to attend, it’s a great way to relive all the excitement. We hope to see you there!

Realtors Take 3rd in Perdido Key Golf Tournament

imageFall is finally here and we all know what that means – perfect golfing weather. Less humidity, cooler temperatures and unlike many country counterparts, there’s no snow on the ground. Every resident and frequent visitor knows this and looks forward to influx of area tournaments.

One of the most recent was held by the Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce at the Lost Key Golf Club. The chamber put on the event in conjunction with the Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival on November 10th. The annual tournament hosts celebrity songwriters’ in addition to other four person teams who compete on behalf of Veteran’s Day.

This year, two of our own Pointe South real estate agents competed in the tournament and we are pleased to announce that they placed third in the entire event. Pensacola and Perdido Key real estate agents, Scott Marks and Dave Harbour formed a team with two friends, Mike Whitner and Kelly Robinson.

These guys did an incredible job and we so proud to have them represent Pointe South. Many thanks go out to the Lost Key Golf Club and Perdido Key Chamber members for hosting such a great tournament. We are looking forward to many more in the future!
