Wine & Art Festival in Perdido Key

If you are lucky to live in a Perdido Key home or home rental in Pensacola, get ready for an exciting annual event. The 6th Annual Perdido Key Wine and Art Festival kicks off April 2!

Originally a two day festival, this event is so popular it now last four days! Taking place at the Villagio Town Center in Perdido Key, this festival allows participants the chance to taste a variety of wines while exploring the terrific art available from local and regional artists.

The wine festival in Perdido Key kicks off on Thursday evening with a Taste of Perdido. This event will feature wines paired with culinary creations from five wonderful local restaurants. The main tasting event at the Villagio Town Center will take place on Friday and Saturday until 6pm. On Sunday, which also happens to be Easter, visitors are encouraged to explore Perdido Key at their own pace, including a visit to one of the area’s many restaurants, all of which will be offering a delicious holiday menu.

McGuire’s 5K Prediction Run

If you own real estate in Pensacola or the surrounding areas and love to run, we have a great event taking place this weekend that we know you will want to check out – the McGuire’s 5K Prediction Run!

Even if you have just recently moved to the Gulf Coast, chances are you’ve already heard about the infamous McGuire’s restaurant. Known for their traditional Irish food and walls covered in dollar bills, this establishment is a Pensacola, as well as Destin, tradition.

This year marks this 38th annual McGuire’s St. Patrick’s Day 5K Prediction Run and it will take place on Saturday, March 14 at 9am. What is a prediction run, you ask? Well, you take a guess when registering at how long it will take you to finish the course. Those closest earn prices!

In addition to being a great time this event also benefits the Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund, the Pensacola Police Department, the Boy Scouts of America Troop 104 and other local charities. We hope you’ll sign up and look forward to seeing everyone out on Saturday morning!

If you missed the state fair this fall, don’t worry. There is a wonderful carnival experience about to take place near your home in Perdido Key! If you own Gulf Coast real estate, don’t miss Springfest this March.

Springfest in Perdido Key has become an annual event and one many of us look forward to. Not only is it five days of family-friendly fun, but it also benefits an organization near to our hearts, the Manna Food Bank.

The event will feature everything you expect from a fair. Springfest offers a full size carnival and all the rides, concessions and games that come along with that. And, one of the best and most surprising aspects of this event is that admission and parking are FREE! All that is asked is that event goers donate a nonperishable food item at the gate in exchange. Last year this event was able to donate over 1000 pounds of food! So, grab a few cans from your pantry and come out to Springfest beginning March 10, 2015 in Perdido Key.

Pensacon 2015 in Pensacola

Pensacon has been a break out success here in Pensacola and you will notice an influx of crazy creatures to our area late this month. If you already own Gulf Coast real estate, we invite you to come out and enjoy the festivities!

If you are unfamiliar with Pensacola, allow us to briefly explain. This is a three day festival beginning February 27 that celebrates all things sci-fi and comic based. There will be many events, both during the exhibit at the Pensacola Bay Center and in downtown Pensacola. These events will take place at some of your favorite local hangouts and hot spots, and celebrate some of your favorite movies and shows including Game of Thrones, Star Trek and Harry Potter, among many others.

There will also be many special guests at the events. These include authors, artists and event actors from some of your favorite shows and movies such as The Hunger Games, Doctor Who, and Sons of Anarchy. If you haven’t already purchased your tickets, do so now and don’t miss this unique, fun festival in Pensacola, Florida!

Gulf Coast Mardi Gras Celebration

Mardi Gras is next Tuesday which means the Gulf Coast is letting the good times roll with beads, parties and parades all this week! If you own Northwest Florida or Coastal Alabama real estate, be sure to head out and enjoy the festivities!

If you own a Pensacola home, head out to downtown this coming weekend for the annual parades! The first, the Krewe of Lafitte Illuminated Parade, will take place on Friday evening at 7:30pm. This is the area’s largest lighted parade and is always a fun way to kick off the weekend. On Saturday, head to the same downtown route for the Grand Mardi Gras Parade at 2pm.

You can also catch parades taking place in Orange Beach, as well as Gulf Shores. Both cities will indulge in the revelry on February 13, 2015 with Gulf Shores kicking off a parade at 5:30pm and Orange Beach at 6:30pm. On Saturday, the Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade will begin at 10am leaving you plenty of time to zoom over to Orange Beach for their annual parade at 2pm.

The Hangout Music Fest is a three day concert event that takes place every May. Multiple stages and events take place on the beach at The Hangout all three days. It’s truly one of the best events on the Gulf Coast and one we look forward to each year.

Pensacola Double Bridge Run

If you own real estate in Pensacola, lace up your sneakers and get ready for one of the area’s best running events. The Double Bridge Run is a local favorite and a good time for runners, walkers and athletes of every level.

Before the race kicks off on Saturday, February 7, 2015, be sure to hit up the race expo on Thursday evening and during the day Friday. There you will have the chance to learn more about local businesses, snag race freebies and even meet the Pointe South team. Be sure to stop by our booth!

If you are unfamiliar with the Double Bridge Run in Pensacola, sign up and get ready for a great time. The 15K kicks off in Maritime Park and crosses the Pensacola Bay Bridge where it meets up with the 5K crowd before traversing the Bob Sikes Bridge into Pensacola Beach. Be sure to hang around Portofino Boardwalk after the race for the awards, entertainment and a great time. See you at the finish line!

Super Chili Bowl Cookoff at Flora-Bama

Chili is a cold-weather tradition, yes, even along our balmy beaches, and we are excited for the 21st annual Super Chili Bowl Cookoff at the Flora-Bama, located near your home in Perdido Key or real estate in Orange Beach.

The Super Chili Bowl Cookoff is a great reason to shake off the winter blues and head back out to the beautiful Gulf Coast beaches. Enjoy watching as each team of three chefs, both local restaurant professionals and homegrown aficionados, cook up their creations beginning at 10am. Tasting tickets will also be on sale and the delicious eats get served up at noon. The best part of this annual Gulf Coast event? It benefits the American Cancer Society and $2 per bowl will be donated to this great organization.

Do you consider yourself a chili wizard? Come show off your magic! Any team is welcome to enter in their concoction, as long as they are also willing to eat it, for just $40. You may be familiar with Winter Restaurant Week. In fact, it takes place in many large cities and features some of the world’s best chefs. But, did you know Pensacola also offers Winter Restaurant Week?

Now in its fifth year, Winter Restaurant Week in Pensacola consist of three awesome dining locations offering world class culinary delights each evening from January 20-24, 2015. The Fish House, Jackson’s Steakhouse and Atlas Oyster House will all offer scrumptious set menus priced at $33 per person, per restaurant. Just pick an evening, pick a location and prepare to be wowed.

Some of the creations from this year’s menu that we found especially appetizing include bourbon-bacon lettuce wraps, house-made summer sausage, a wonderful sounding lobster dish, and of course, a plethora of desserts! We hope to see each of you out to Pensacola’s Winter Restaurant Week!
