Events this October Along the Coast

The-Wharf7-300x200

It’s officially fall here along the Gulf Coast of Florida and Alabama. Temps will begin falling, slightly, and that means something very good if you own real estate in Coastal Alabama or Northwest Florida – it’s time for great fall events!

In the summer, the weather is just too warm to stay outside for long unless you are lounging by your pool or riding waves at the beach. In the fall, however, the humidity gives us a break and the weather is ideal for long days spent wandering festivals.

Along the shores of Alabama you will find many wonderful events to attend, no matter your interests. In Fairhope, attend the Grand Festival of Art where over 70 artists will be displaying their handcrafted items. At The Wharf in Orange Beach, head out for the LA Gumbo Festival for music and good eats.

If you own real estate in Perdido Key or Pensacola, make your way to Pensacola Beach for the annual Songwriters’ Festival or sip suds at Oktoberfest at the Perdido Key Oyster Bay. All events take place the first week of October and things only get better from there!

Don’t live along the beach? No problem. Call our friends at Pointe South Vacation Rentals and ask how you can save up to 30% on a condo or beach home rental this month!

Don’t miss Bayfest in Mobile!

If you own Eastern Shore real estate in Alabama, or were considering a fall vacation to Alabama’s Gulf Coast this fall, don’t miss Bayfest! Now in it’s 20th year, this event is going to be huge!

Bayfest is ‘Alabama’s Largest Music Festival’ and they do not disappoint. This year the festival will take place October 3-5 and offer a little something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you enjoy soul, rock, R&B or anything in between, you will find an artist to get excited about during this festival.

So, who is in the lineup? Some of our favorites include country stars Thompson Square, as well as rockers Stone Temple Pilots, Jane’s Addiction and Kid Rock. Also appearing are Ludacris, Blackberry Smoke and Brantley Gilbert. Don’t miss out! Get your tickets, make your reservations in a nearby Fairhope home or Gulf Shores vacation rental so you can make a weekend of it and we will see you there!

Bulls on the Beach

FloraBama-300x224We must say, living in Gulf Coast real estate near Perdido Key is never boring! Don’t miss one of the most exciting events to come to our shores, Bulls on the Beach, coming later this month to the Flora-Bama!

Bulls on the Beach will feature, well, bulls on the beach. It’s exactly what it sounds like, bull riding. Come out and watch two nights of bull riding action beginning September 11. The Flora-Bama has become rather well known for their interesting and exciting events, including the annual mullet toss, as well as great concerts.

This upcoming event is definitely one you don’t want to miss, whether you are on vacation in Perdido Key or live in the area. Want to make a weekend out of it and stay along the beach? Call our friends and ask about Perdido Key condos or even our latest special on Orange Beach condo rentals. See you on the sand – or maybe even the mechanical bull!

Calling all divers! If you own Gulf Coast real estate, or even just want to come do a little diving while on vacation in Coastal Alabama, come participate in the upcoming Lionfish Shootout in Orange Beach!

While Lionfish are gorgeous and fun to look at, they can also be dangerous and are an invasive species along our coast line. The Gulf Coast Lionfish Coalition, host of this event, aim to educate the public and control the local Lionfish population.

The Lionfish Shootout will take place on September 6, 2014. Registration is just $35, with t-shirt, and you could walk away with $1,500 in cash prizes! If you can’t make it for the shootout in Orange Beach early in the month, head over to Perdido Key for the Fall Lionfish Roundup on September 27 and 28. You could walk away with $3,100 in cash. See you in the water!
