Bulls on the Beach will feature, well, bulls on the beach. It’s exactly what it sounds like, bull riding. Come out and watch two nights of bull riding action beginning September 11. The Flora-Bama has become rather well known for their interesting and exciting events, including the annual mullet toss, as well as great concerts.

This upcoming event is definitely one you don’t want to miss, whether you are on vacation in Perdido Key or live in the area!

Lionfish Shootout!

Calling all divers! If you own Gulf Coast real estate, or even just want to come do a little diving while on vacation in Coastal Alabama, come participate in the upcoming Lionfish Shootout in Orange Beach!

While Lionfish are gorgeous and fun to look at, they can also be dangerous and are an invasive species along our coast line. The Gulf Coast Lionfish Coalition, host of this event, aim to educate the public and control the local Lionfish population.

The Lionfish Shootout will take place on September 6, 2014. Registration is just $35, with t-shirt, and you could walk away with $1,500 in cash prizes! If you can’t make it for the shootout in Orange Beach early in the month, head over to Perdido Key for the Fall Lionfish Roundup on September 27 and 28. You could walk away with $3,100 in cash. See you in the water!

Fourth of July Fireworks

Looking for the best place to catch the fireworks this Fourth of July? You won’t have to venture far from your Gulf Coast home to watch a spectacular and patriotic display! In fact, you just need to hit your local beach.

If you own a home in Pensacola or along the white sandy shore of Pensacola Beach just head out to Casino Beach to view a wonderful show. The fun kicks off early but the fireworks will ignite from Quietwater Beach at 8:30PM.

If you own real estate in Perdido Key, the fireworks will take on Saturday, July 5 from behind Perdido Key Resort after the sun sets. In Orange Beach, make your way to The Wharf. Here you can view the fireworks, as well as SPECTRA during the 100 Days of Summer event. And, in Gulf Shores or Fort Morgan, drive over to the Gulf Shores public beach access by 9PM for a shining display over the water. Be sure to bring your blanket, stretch out and enjoy the dazzling fireworks over the Gulf Coast this Independence Day!

Enjoy Bands on the Beach

Bands on the Beach is a favorite summer time activity in Pensacola Beach. The concerts offer residents and visitors a chance to kick back, relax and experience some local flavor by way of hometown bands. The concerts take place every Tuesday evening from 7PM-9PM. Bring your beach chairs and cool beverage so you can boogie in comfort!

Taking the stage at Gulfside Pavilion tonight is The Reunion Band, known for their blend of 60′s and 70′s hits. Other bands coming to the stage this summer include the popular Hot Sauce Band and The Chris Martin Band. Kick Off Summer at The Wharf in Orange Beach

Memorial Day marks the start of 100 Days of Summer, which is presented by Pepsi. The event will kick off with live music on Main Street beginning at 6:30PM. At 8PM hit Main Street for a truly one of a kind beach event – the beach ball drop! Delight as 2,000 inflated beach balls are released to mark the beginning of summer fun.

“Tanked” Coming to Perdido Key

The bickering brothers-in-law of the popular show “Tanked” are giving you another reason to stop in to the Perdido Key Visitors Center. Swing by during your next vacation in a Perdido Key condo rental to check out their latest 403-gallon design!

The new aquarium will feature a pirate theme and contain fish and an ecosystem native to the Gulf Coast. In addition to checking out your favorite fish, see if you can spot the extra elements hidden inside, including gold coins, a pirate ship, and other items included to pay homage to Perdido Key and the local area. An interactive play and education area will also be included in the display.

The new feature of the Perdido Key Visitors Information Center will be installed this June, with the “Tanked” crew in tow to film the entire process for Animal Planet. While an air date has not been announced, “Tanked” airs on Friday nights. Be sure to stop in and check out the new aquarium during your next visit and vacation to Perdido Key!

Run the Sunset Stampede!

Lace up your running shoes and head out to beautiful Navarre Beach. It’s time for the Sunset Stampede, an amazing 5K along the white sand beaches of Northwest Florida!

The Sunset Stampede in Navarre Beach is now in it’s 6th year and will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2014. The children’s one mile fun run will kick off a 5:30PM, with the 5K following at 6:30PM.

The course is USATF certified, as well as flat and scenic, as it will take place on the beaches of Navarre. The run is just $30 for adults and kids run for $5. All entries receive a t-shirt. After the race, be sure to stick around and enjoy the post-race party. This portion of the day will take place at popular Juana’s Pagoda’s. All runners receive complimentary food and beverages. The Interstate Mullet Toss!

It’s here! The Interstate Mullet Toss and Gulf Coast’s Greatest Beach Party kicks off today and we can’t wait to fling some fish.

Each year hundreds of people gather along the sugar white shore of Perdido Key and Orange Beach to attempt tossing a favorite local fish across the state border. Really. All you have to do is stand in a circle and attempt to throw your fish from the beaches of Northwest Florida onto the beaches of Coastal Alabama.

Not only is this event fun but a portion of the proceeds even benefit a great cause, the Community Drug & Alcohol Council, as well as other youth programs in the area. Stick around after your throw to enjoy the beach party, four days of live music, great food and cool drinks. See you on the sand!

Get Crazy at the Crawfish Festival

It’s time for the Crawfish Festival at Bamboo Willie’s, a cherished annual Pensacola Beach event! Taking place April 11-13, 2014, make your way over to Pensacola Beach for this favorite local festival.
