Music Events Coming to the Gulf Coast!

A vacation to the beaches of the Gulf Coast just started to sound a lot better – literally. We’re excited to welcome some amazing artists to our shores this spring and you will want to get your tickets immediately!

The first musical artist coming to the beaches of Northwest Florida isn’t just any act. In fact, it’s one of the top-selling solo artist of all time, Sir Elton John! He will be playing the Pensacola Bay Center on March 16, 2014 and tickets are going fast. Elton John will present new material as well as all your favorite hits during the show.

In May, come enjoy the terrific spring weather as well as multiple artists as they play the Hangout Fest. This three day musical festival near our Gulf Shores condos is a favorite of locals and visitors. This year guests include The Killers, The Back Keys, and a reunited Outkast among many, many others.

Our Pensacola Beach and Coastal Alabama vacation rentals will rent for these events very quickly. Get your tickets to the shows, make your reservations and get ready for a terrific time along our sugar white sand beaches!

Mardi Gras Season Kick Off

Mardi Gras is a very big deal here along the Gulf Coast of Florida and Alabama, and on Sunday, January 5, 2014, the party kicks off in beautiful downtown Pensacola!

While the big event may take place a few hours west in New Orleans, we know how to throw a good party right here in Pensacola. And, it’s even family friendly! If you own real estate in downtown Pensacola then you are undoubtedly familiar with 12th Night, the annual kickoff event, but if you happen to be new to the area, perhaps living in a Pensacola long term rental, or are considering a vacation in Pensacola Beach, this event may be a new experience for you.

Come out to downtown Pensacola, along Palafox Street, to get a sneak peek at this year’s floats and enjoy a celebration with the Krewe’s. You can even see this year’s crowned Kings and Queens! Come out early to this free event and don’t miss a moment of the action. The festivities kick off at 7:30PM.

Runway Run 5K in Pensacola

Pointe South is a proud supporter of our local USO. That’s why we are very excited to be a part of the Runway Run 5K taking place in Pensacola this weekend.

Lace up your sneakers on Saturday, December 7, 2013 and get ready to run down the runway of the Pensacola International Airport. This event will not only showcase the new improvements to the airport but all proceeds will benefit the USO, which provides many wonderful services to our local service men and women. Whether you run, jog, walk or push a stroller, we invite everyone out! Those participating will receive a timed BIB, event t-shirt and a goody bag. Be sure to look out for your free swag from the Pointe South family of companies!

Registration is open up until race time. Register by the end of the day Friday to run for just $25! Race day registration is $35 and all kids 12 and under run for free. We will see you at the finish line.

Thanksgiving at the Beach

Thanksgiving is an absolutely wonderful time of year to spend at the beach. The weather is nice and, well, it’s the beach! And, while you could certainly prepare all your holiday favorites in the fully equipped kitchens of our rentals, it’s also a great opportunity to try something a little different!

You may be wondering if there are any open restaurants in Pensacola, Perdido Key or Orange Beach that will be serving Thanksgiving dinner. The answer? Yes! And, some fabulous ones, at that. If you are staying in a Pensacola Beach vacation rental, venture into Pensacola to try the amazing creations served up by The Fish House. While something called ‘grits a ya ya’ may not traditionally appear on your holiday table, we know you will love them, along with the turkey, dressing, green bean casserole and much more. They will open from 11AM to 5PM and reservations are recommended.

In Perdido Key, head over to the annual buffet at the Perdido Key Beach Resort or cook up your favorite dish and head over to the Flora-Bama Lounge potluck. There will also be many area restaurants in Orange Beach serving Thanksgiving dinner. No matter what or where you choose to eat, we hope you have a wonderful turkey day!

Have a Ghoulish Good Time this Weekend Gulf Coast Style!

It’s that wonderful, wicked time of year when a frightfully good time can be had after dark – if you know the appropriate haunts to hang out at in town. This weekend, have a ghoulish good time along the Gulf Coast!

If you own real estate in Pensacola or happen to be on vacation in Pensacola Beach, head over to the historic lighthouse for a ghost tour. Even TAPS, of SciFi Network, consider this one of the more haunted lighthouses in America. If ghosts aren’t for you, or your are looking for something a little more family-friendly for your little ones, meet us over at The Hangout in Gulf Shores. We have a feeling their haunted house, themed “Cabin Fever” this year” will be a hair-raising complement to your Halloween experience.

The Pensacola Lighthouse Ghost Tour will take place Saturday, October 12, 2013. Reservations are recommend and admission is $20. If you plan to tour The Hangout spooky setup, head out Friday or Saturday nights leading up to Halloween. Adults enter for $5 and children for just $3.
